White fronted Goose – long staying juvenile bird remained at Broom GP until at least 26th, another at Meadow Lane GP on 20th

Pink-footed Goose – one at Grovebury SP on 12th to 15th, in addition a few records of the birds noted in January

Pintail – a pair at Meadow Lane GP reported on seven dates between 2nd and 23rd

Goosander – reported also at Grovebury SP between 3rd and 15th and at Priory CP on 26th and 27th

Smew – two at Grovebury SP on 11th to 13th

Red-breasted Merganser – a male flew over Sandy on 13th

Glossy Ibis – one moving around the east of the county was noted over Sandy on 12th and 13th and at Roxton GP on 13th

Great White Egret – one near Grovebury SP on 20th, three at Meadow Lane GP on 23rd amongst a scatter of records around the Ouse Valley east of Bedford

Lapwing – a cold weather movement with small groups of birds moving southwest through the morning of 13th

Woodcock – good numbers reported including up to nine coming out of roost at The Lodge

Dunlin – one through Grovebury SP on 12th, two at Broom GP on 13th

Black-tailed Godwit – one at Broom GP on 11th

Dartford Warbler – at least one continuing around The Lodge and Sandy Heath

Firecrest – two in Ampthill Park through the month, also two in Deepdale Woods from 25th to 28th

Crossbill – more sightings of double figure flocks at The Lodge and in Warden Warren
