White -fronted Goose – remained at Meadow Lane GP all month

Pink-footed Goose – one in Southill Park on 13th

Green-winged Teal – one at Meadow Lane GP from 7th into March

Pintail – one at Brogborough Lake on 24th

Red-crested Pochard – two males and a female at Priory CP on 18th

Scaup – over wintering male remained at Grovebury SP all month, two male at Brogborough Lake on 23rd, four on 27th, one remaining to 28th

Goldeneye – up to 26 were at Brogborough Lake, maximum of eight at Harrold-Odell CP

Ringed Plover – two near Broom on 25th

Curlew – one at Grovebury SP on 26th

Mediterranean Gull – an adult noted at Broom East CWS on 18th was colour ringed and suggested related to a scheme ringing pulli in the nest in Belgium or Netherlands. Elsewhere a few singles were noted in roost at Stewartby Lake, and a first winter at MCP Wetlands NR on 16th

Kittiwake – one at Stewartby Lake on 21st

Great White Egret – regularly reported from Meadow Lane / Willington area

Cattle Egret – birds continued near Henlow in the month with a maximum count of four on a few dates

Merlin – one near Landford on 1st, another seen between Great Barford and Blunham on 19th

Black Redstart – one at Henlow Camp on 5th, one in Luton on 24th

Water Pipit – one at Harrowden on 16th

Tree Sparrow – one in conservation area near Upper Caldecotte on 10th

Brambling – a few noted including a flock of 75 near Shefford, and at leaast 40 at Poppy HIll Henlow
