Pink-footed Goose – noted at four sites in the month which could relate to one individual, two or more. Meadow Lane GP on 3rd, Harrold Odell GP later on 3rd, Old Warden from 13th to 16th, Rookery North on 21st and nearby at MCP Wetlands NR on 23rd

White-fronted Goose – one at Harrold Odell CP on 4th

Bewick’s Swan – a party of seven at Woburn Lakes on 19th

Pintail – eight at Brogborough Lake on 13th, two females at Blunham Lake on 15th

Red-crested Pochard – pair at Priory CP from remained from 1st to 13th and were joined by a second male on 5th and 6th, one at Meadow Lane GP on 14th, a drake at Broom GP on 27th

Scaup – one at Brogborough Lake all month, a drake at Harrold Odell CP from 3rd to 6th

Ringed Plover – one at Broom South Quarry on 26th and maybe the same at Broom East CWS on 27th

Curlew – one at Grovebury SP on 22nd

Jack Snipe – a count of three at Stratton Balancing Pond on 21st

Mediterranean Gull – one at Priory CP on 5th, two at Stewartby Lake on 11th, three including two adults in the roost there on 18th, another at Meadow Lane GP on 19th

Marsh Harrier – birds at both Rookery North ClP and Broom South Quarry on 11th, another over Sandy on 24th

Merlin – female continued around Broom East CWS and South Quarry, another near Potton on 24th

Waxwing – four in Cranfield on 1st

Chiffchaff – birds of the Siberian “tristis” race noted from Bedford STW on 22nd and Sandy STW on 26th and 27th

Firecrest – the bird noted in January was reported again at Priory CP in the month, one was at Flitton Moor on 23rd and another at Ampthill Park on 27th

Stonechat – groups of four counted in the last few days of the month from Brogborough Tip, Houghton Brook Pools, Meadow Lane GP and near Beeston
