Pink-footed Goose – reported at both Meadow Lane GP and Rookery North ClP / MCP Wetlands NR on morning of 9th March suggesting likely two birds being involved
Whooper Swan – three birds that had been just over the border in Buckinghamshire for a few weeks moved into the county near Harrold from 27th to 31st
Pintail – a drake at Stewartby Lake on 7th
Red-crested Pochard – one at Black Cat GP on 18th
Common Scoter – sound recorded on nocturnal migration over Meppershall on 25th
Alpine Swift – one near Eyeworth on 30th was the third record from the county and came at a time of a significant influx into the UK
Stone Curlew – sound recorded on nocturnal migration over Biggleswade on 16th
Avocet – one at MCP Wetlands NR on 16th
Ringed Plover – two noted at Broom East CWS on 8th, 10th and 18th, three at Broom South Quarry on 16th, another on flood water in Wixams Estate on 30th
Curlew – a single bird reported regularly in the month from Grovebury SP, other recrods received fron Thurleigh Airfield
Black-tailed Godwit – six at MCP Wetlands NR on 30th
Dunlin – single birds at Broom East CWS on 7th, Grovebury SP on 14th, Radwell on 19th and Wixams on 30th
Kittiwake – an adult at Broom East CWS on 25th
Little Gull – one at MCP Wetlands NR on 31st
Mediterranean Gull – singles at Grovebury SP on 8th and 25th, one at Stewartby Lake on 18th, two there on 25th
White Stork – one at Blunham on 23rd was likely a bird that has recently been recorded also in Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire
Bittern – sound recorded on nocturnal migration over Meppershall on 10th, one booming in the brick pits from 19th
Osprey – one passed over Broom South Quarry and Southill on 29th
Merlin – one female around Stanford, Broom South Quarry and Broom East CWS in the month, another at Thurleigh on 5th, a male near Potton on 8th
Great Grey Shrike – an elusive bird was found near Eyeworth on 4th and seen again on 5th, 7th, 9th and 29th
Waxwing – two at Cranfield were well watched from 3rd to 19th
Rock Pipit – one flew over Broom East CWS on 20th
