Bar-headed Goose – four again noted around Grovebury SP during the month

Pink-footed Goose – one noted in Rookery South ClP on 5th and 12th

Pintail – one at Stockgrove on 9th and 13th, one at Wyboston GP on 18th

Red-crested Pochard – a pair at Radwell Lakes on 7th, two at Priory CP on 12th and a pair at Brogborough Lake from 20th to 26th

Scaup – an immature drake at Brogborough Lake from 5th to 26th

Common Scoter – one at Stewartby Lake on 18th

Goldeneye – again good numbers at Brogborough Lake this winter including a count of 32 on 26th, also seen at Priory CP on 21st, Grovebury SP on 27th and Harrold Odell CP on 28th

Swift sp – a swift noted near Kempston on 2nd was not identified to species, but coincided with a number of records in the UK of Pallid Swift particularly on the east coast

Crane – heard but not seen over Houghton Brook Pools on 12th

Black-necked Grebe – one at Priory CP on 29th

Dunlin – two at Grovebury SP on 20th

Jack Snipe – one at Dunstable STW on 19th

Spotted Redshank – one at Grovebury SP on 20th

Greenshank – one at Broom East CWS on 17th

Mediterreanean Gull – a first winter at Brogborough Lake on 5th

Caspian Gull – three roosted at Brogborough Lake on 19th

Yellow-legged Gull – six roosted at Brogborough Lake on 20th

Little Auk – a belated report was received in December of one at Radwell Lakes on 16th

Shag – one at Southill Lake on 13th

Great White Egret – ten records including two at Radwell Lakes on 12th and two at Meadow Lane GP on 26th

Little Egret – 28 counted at Priory CP on 10th, a record for the park

Marsh Harrier – a femail continued around the brick pits, elsewhere one at Lodge Farm on 20th, potentially the same at Broom East CWS on the same day

Red Kite – 45 counted together near Luton Airport on 9th

Short-eared Owl – one near Houghton Regis on 25th

Firecrest – two at Ampthill Park all month, another at Stanford on 28th

Black Redstart – one at Flitwick on 19th, one at Harrold on 27th

Hawfinch – reported at The Lodge RSPB on 6th and 24th
