Species Account

Extract from Bird Report 2008

Vagrant.

An immature bird was found dead in April or May by a gamekeeper on the Southill Estate. Preserving the corpse in a freezer, its identity was revealed when it was shown to a local birdwatcher on 23rd November. The record was only the second occurrence of the species in Britain at the time and the first for 50 years. There have only been three UK records.
