Records & Sightings
If you have a sighting records you’d like to submit, you can do so via BirdTrack, WhatsApp or Email.
BirdTrack
BirdTrack is our preferred method for submitting records. It’s easy to set up, quick to use, and generates excellent reports for reviewing your data and keeping lists up to date.
The Bedfordshire Birding Community runs several WhatsApp groups where members share sightings and locations. To join, please message Peter Nash using this link.
Contributors share details of what they have seen, heard or photographed and where. When you join, you can specify which of the following groups you would like to join:
- Beds Birds – for sightings only
- Beds Rare Bird News – updates on rare finds
- Photo & Video – share and discuss bird imagery
- General – chat about any birding topic
- Beds Vismig – visible migration discussions
- Beds Nocmig – nocturnal migration updates
An email group for sharing sightings is also available and also run by the wider Bedfordshire Birding Community (Read the full details here).
For sightings of rarities, please fill out this rarities description form and send it to raritiessecretary@bedsbirdclub.org.uk.
The Bedfordshire Birding Community including the Bird Club collects bird records for the county. They are used to produce the annual Bedfordshire Bird Report and sent to the Local Records Centre to be used for planning applications and research purposes.
