Regularly winters in small numbers, and passage migrant. (Red list).

There were just 41 records submitted, compared to 65 in 2023, a reduction of around 40%. The highest count was ten at Stewartby Lake on 13th January. Of note nowadays were four, also at Stewartby Lake, on 23rd December, three at Broom South Quarry on 14th January, three at Broom GP on 4th February, three at Stewartby Lake on 7th February, three at Luton Hoo Estate on 3rd July and three at MCP Wetlands NR on 8th August. There were four other counts of two, with the other records being singles.
