Declining resident. Included in 4.6% of BirdTrack lists. Th e East of England long-term trend is decreasing -65%*. (Red list).

An adult with a juvenile at Old Warden on 1st June was the earliest record of successful breeding. There were just four more records of recently fledged young through July and August, until 13th September when a nest with eggshells was found at Cardington Cross. Breeding also took place at Wood End North, Myers Farm and Tithe Farm, Potton, and Pegsdon Hills.

The highest count was of 32 at Broom South Quarry on 30th October.
