Very rare breeder, possibly overlooked, scarce in winter. (Green list).

Breeding was confirmed in the north of the county. There were two or three young calling on 2nd June, an adult and two mobile juveniles on 15th June and one juvenile heard calling on 15th July. That was the first confirmed breeding since 2014 (SJ, PN, SCB).

Away from the breeding site the only other record was one photographed roosting in a garden at Aspley Guise on 20th February (NW).
