Whooper Swan – two at Dunstable WTW on 21st and 28th, two also reported over Clifton on 24th

Pintail – one at Great Barford on 6th, one at Harrold-Odell CP on 18th, with another, a juvenile, the same day at Broom South Quarry until 20th

Ferruginous Duck – a male at Broom South Quarry from 1st to 10th

Scaup – a first winter male at Brogborough Lake on 20th and 21st

Ruff – one remained at Grovebury SP on 1st, another at Broom East CWS on 8th

Shag – one at MCP Wetlands NR from 27th to 31st

Cattle Egret- four at Willington GP on 8th, with ten reported there on 21st. A single bird at Meadow Lane GP on 13th, and another at Thurleigh Airfield on 29th

Osprey – one flew south over Haynes on 15th

Hen Harrier – one at Tetworth on 29th

Short-eared Owl – one over Broom East CWS on 29th

Merlin – recorded at Clophill on 15th, Knotting Green on 18th and Thurleigh Airfield on 29th

Radde’s Warbler – an exceptional find in Kings Wood, Ampthill on 29th, the second for the county with the previous being a bird caught during a ringing session at Priory CP in October 1991

Firecrest – one in Houghton Regis on 21st

Tree Sparrow – eight in Steppingley on 15th attracted to a peanut feeder

Hawfinch – two noted on a visible migration watch from The Pinnacle, Sandy on 17th

Little Bunting – one found with the bunting flock in the cover crop next to Broom East CWS on 29th, also seen the next day. Second for the county following a well watched bird in Great Barford in 2017
