Extract from Bird Report 2024

Scarce winter visitor and passage migrant. (Amber list).

Only singles were recorded, at seven locations throughout the year. Records indicate that the longest these individuals stayed at any one place was seven days, with no overlap between sites. This raised the possibility that it was just one or two individuals moving along the central belt of clay pits, and around Priory Park and Harrowden, often associating with Greylag Geese. One at Wyboston Lakes on 16th March was exceptional in that respect.
