Common and widespread species. Included in 20.8% of BirdTrack lists. (Green list).
Breeding took place at Broom East, Broom South Quarry, Upper Caldecote FCA, Dunstable WTW, Houghton Brook Pools, MCP Wetlands NR, Meadow Lane GP, Myers Farm Potton, Quest ClP, Rookery North ClP, Southill Lake, Whipsnade Zoo and Willington Lock Quarry. Peak counts were again at Southill Lake, with 46 on 29th September (site record), and with 40 still on 13th October. Elsewhere, there were 21 at Stewartby Lake on 21st January, 23 at Quest ClP on 4th March, 30 at Rookery North ClP on 8th September and 22 at Blunham Lakes on 24th September.
