This is a fairly large lake but hard to view and, consequently, very under-watched. Being adjacent to Harrold-Odell Country Park, it picks up many of the birds from that site. It is mainly common wildfowl that are seen here, but Goldeneye may be present in winter. Like H-O CP, the site often holds nesting Cormorants.

Take the footpath west along the southern edge of the lake and view where you can through the trees. The gaps in the trees get slightly larger the further you get to the south west corner of the lake.

You can take the footpath north along the western side but views are not much better – maybe in winter. At the northern end there is a smaller pool which may be worth a look. Little Grebes have bred here.

This area is very under-watched, so records are thin for this site. Anyone wanting to explore a new area might like to take a look!

Parking is probably best in the Harrold-Odell CP car park. Walk to the main Odell Road heading north, with the park on your right and houses on your left. There is a footpath just south of the fire station.

Birds
